· Approval of Minutes
o Floyd requested that the minutes from the previous meeting reflect a change regarding the field disbursement.

· Officer’s Reports:
President: LaVerne Baker- We received $500 from Cal Ripken. Requested another $500 from Bob Melvin (President of Cal Ripken) but has not heard back from him as of this afternoon. The 14U’s Thank you to their sponsors for Nationals was in the Daily Democrat.
Vice President: April Gordon-We have 4 sponsors for fall ball. So far they will go to:
8u: Monroe; 10U#2: Qualitees; 12U#1: Laugenour & Miekle; 12U#2:
There will be a rummage sale on August 29th at Recreation Field from 9am-1pm. Will sell all kinds of used softball “stuff”. May also do a swap. Paula and April will also have the snack bar open for limited snacks. Arena Softball will also be advertised.
Secretary: Lorene Leathers-Nothing to report
Treasurer: Gina Stanley-(See Written Report for Full Details)-We received a voucher to pay government, but Gina hasn’t been able to figure it out yet. We are about $700 short from fall registration money. No sponsor money has come in yet. Gina requested approval to pay GSSA for fall registration in the amount of $181.0.
o Motion by April to pay outstanding bill to GSSA in the amount of $181.00 for fall registration.

14/16U: Rebecca-(report given by Gina)-Each team currently has 11 players. If Robin Santillian is approved by NorCal to play. She will be 17 before the end of this year. We have 3 16U teams, because there were only 4 14U teams.
Winterball/Norcal: Randy McAlaray-Absent
Fundraising: Diana Martin/Nancy Cooper: Gina put together the cookie dough fundraiser. She will be out at Round Table on August 31st from 6-8pm to turn in your orders. The orders can be picked up on September 2nd or 3rd at Lee Middle School. A to Z has been donating rolling equipment bas to the league.
Snack Bar: Paula Noble-When the games get scheduled, Paula will gather help and supplies to get the snack bar up and running.
Webmaster: Chris Dark-Absent
Equipment/Safety/Facilities: Dennis Stanley-Will be putting more ice packs in the snack bar. City no longer prepping fields. Fees per player up from $7 to $8, starting July 1, 2009. Klenhard is $17/hour and Harris is $16/hour for use of the lights. April will talk with her dad about a trailer for Dennis to transport the quad from field to field for prepping. Dennis recommends we pay someone $20-25 to prep the fields. Dennis said he would be available to prep the fields.
o Motion by Diana-providing we can get a trailer for Dennis to use, the league will pay him $20/field/day for prepping.

Dennis would like us to get maximum use of Recreation Field so we don’t have to pay for lights. Dennis is aware that Paula and Rebecca still need keys.

Registrar: Floyd Kemper-Currently have 83 players. There are two scholarship requests:

Umpire-in-Chief: Mike Rossiter-Assign our own umpires for Winterball. We will pay:
8U-$25.00; 10/12/16U: $30.00 NorCal will reimburse us $23.75 for 8U, and $30 for the older divisions. The going rate for umpires is $40-45 per game. If we could pay the going rate, then we could get ASA umpires to travel here. Mike would like to see all of them be ASA certified, in full gear and know the rules.
Discussion held regarding using local umpires versus out of town umpires.
Need balls for the pitching machine at Rec field. Dennis will look to see if we have any in storage.
