Proceedings:
· Meeting Called to order by LaVerne Baker at 6:40pm
· Minutes from last month’s regular board meeting on June 15 and the minutes from the special board meeting held on July 2 were sent out via email
o Motion by Diana to approve minutes from June 15th and July 2nd meeting

o Motion by Dennis to pay outstanding bill for June and July 2009 in the amount of $6611.99

Winterball Players-Floyd Kemper
8U: 5 10U: 11 12U: 3 14U:4 16U: 4
We need to try and split the teams evenly if there is more than one team per division. Winterball draft is scheduled for July 29th for 8U and 10U. 12U and 14/16U will be held on August 4, 2009 due to Nationals. The winterball managers are: 10U-April Gordon; 12U-Julie Bair; 14U-Gina Stanley; 16U-Paula McAlary. If there is a need for two teams, so far the people are Marilyn Graciano (10U) and LaVerne Baker (12U).
Equipment: Dennis Stanley
All keys have been returned with the exception of the board. All Star managers can keep their equipment and keys. There should be enough softballs to get through fall and maybe the first of spring.
April, Dennis and Floyd will be attending a City of Woodland meeting regarding the field disbursement for spring.
Discussion was held regarding having some kind of tournament here in Woodland. There is a non-refundable deposit required by the City to reserve fields for tournaments.
ACTION: Randy will check with Norcal to see if they want us to host a tournament for 2010. He is also going to check if there is a limit to the number of All Stars on a B team and if we need to RIF ball for the 10U games.

Lisa gave out a handout regarding advertising updates-see attached. There will be “welcome WGFSA” in the next Chamber of Commerce newsletter. April attended a Chamber luncheon to welcome WGFSA. She gave a brief speech to the members at the luncheon. Anyone from the board can go the monthly mixer. Lisa is going to the next meeting on July 30, 2009 with Kathy from the Chamber. Lisa joined woodlandcommunity.com. It is a free advertising website. It will have a link to our website.
Snack Bar: Nancy Cooper
Hasn’t turned all of the money in yet.
Vice President: April Gordon
Qualitees and Sonic will be sponsors for Fall. Will be giving left over pins from closing ceremonies to the 12u and 14U teams for trading at Nationals. Will be in a public place for fall ball registrations again this year. Arena Softball is July 18th from 5-10pm. The money from this date Arena Softball will be split between the 12U & 14U teams for Nationals.

· New Business:
Floyd was approached by Phantom Fireworks. They want to come and give us a presentation. We are not licked into TNT. Contract already signed by Floyd for 2010. Something to think about for next year.
Discussion held regarding location of fireworks booth and money.
Gina’s work got a new copier and WGFSA was given the old one. Dennis will make room for it in the storage unit.
Scholarship requests discussed.
o Motion by Dennis it hold off on granting scholarship requests until our August 4th meeting as there may be more request by then.
